These are something a little different - and they started right outside our own door.
We originally created a slate step for our workshop entrance. It looked great, but in winter we realised it could become slippery. Our solution was to sandblast a pattern into the surface to add grip. That simple idea quickly became something much more - a completely personalised slate doorstep.
Now we produce these bespoke doorsteps for homes, cottages, holiday lets and businesses. They combine practical safety with striking design, creating an entrance feature that is both functional and memorable.

Your doorstep is created using precision sandblasting to produce a permanent, engraved design within the slate surface.
We typically favour a natural, unpainted finish, using contrast, depth and bold design to ensure the lettering and artwork stand out clearly. This approach gives a refined, long-lasting result that won’t deteriorate over time. However, for customers who prefer additional definition, painted detailing can also be applied to enhance visibility and create a different visual style.
