These can be made with oak, iroko, sapele or softwood. Oak is very strong, durable and heavy, but it is the most expensive. It is finished normally with a tough satin varnish or painted. It can however be finished with Osmo Oil. Iroko is another hardwood and is full of its own oil. We can only finish this type of wood with Danish Oil. Another hardwood is sapele which must be well treated so is useful for a cheaper painted post. Finally there is the softwood - not as durable but much cheaper. More information about the timbers. The standard post is 8 foot (2.4m) high and the arm, which is morticed into the post, is made to suit the sign length. If you are ordering a post without a sign please state the length of arm required. Oak posts can be finished with a natural satin varnish, a black wood preservative or painted . Idigbo and softwood posts should be painted. Standard colours are Black, White, Farrow & Ball Lichen (light green) and F&B Purbeck Stone (light grey). Others colours @ £5 - eg Heritage Green, Mid Grey, Farrow & Ball - Downpipe Grey, Cream, Stiffkey Blue For very heavy or long signs you can strengthen the hanging arm with a wrought iron bracket @ £37.50 |

Steel Post with BracketWe asked our blackmith to design a metal post with hanging bracket attached and he has done an amazing job. The box steel posts is 2.5m high, 610mm to end box steel horizontal, 730mm in total with 300mm between hooks. These are all galvanised and painted black as standard and are normally held in stock. Other sizes and colours can be made to order. |
