Our full colour printed memorial plaques offer an affordable way to create a personal and attractive tribute using your own photograph and wording. They are ideal when you would like something more individual than a traditional engraved plaque, but still want to keep the cost sensible.

Simply send us your photograph, wording and design preferences, and our designer will create the artwork for you. You can choose the background colour, lettering colour and font, allowing the plaque to be traditional and understated or brighter and more contemporary.

Each memorial plaque is made from 3mm aluminium composite and printed in full colour using our UV printer in our North Devon workshops. The UV inks are cured directly onto the surface, producing a crisp, waterproof and weather-resistant finish suitable for use outdoors as well as indoors.

Weatherproof Memorial Plaques for Outdoor Use

The aluminium composite itself is extremely durable and will not rot, split or rust. The UV printed surface is waterproof and suitable for outdoor use, making these plaques suitable for memorial gardens, benches, walls, trees, remembrance areas and many other locations.

These plaques are one of our best-value options for full colour outdoor memorials.

However, it is important to understand that they are not as long lasting as our ToughPrint memorial plaques. With normal outdoor exposure, we would generally expect these UV printed plaques to remain attractive for around 3–5 years before noticeable fading begins.

The actual lifespan will depend on the position of the plaque. A plaque in strong, direct sunlight throughout the day is likely to fade sooner than one positioned in partial shade or a more sheltered location.

Matt, Gloss or Gloss Lettering

Different printed finishes can be used to change the appearance of your memorial plaque.

A matt finish gives a softer, understated appearance and helps to reduce reflections. A gloss finish gives photographs and colours greater depth and vibrancy.

We can also produce a matt plaque with gloss lettering. The contrast between the matt background and gloss wording creates an attractive effect which can make the lettering appear slightly raised or embossed when viewed from different angles.
